The EUARS Education System supports structured, progressive and reproducible educational pathways in robotic surgery and robotic technologies, involving different clinical specialties, healthcare professions, engineering profiles and European centres.
EUARS education is conceived as an educational framework: curricula define the educational architecture; pathways structure progression; course programmes deliver the learning experience; assessment verifies learning outcomes; and EUARS educational certificates recognise completion, progression or educational achievement.
How the system works
- EUARS Competency-based education for robotic surgery — Defines learning outcomes, content, sequence and expected standards.
- Pathway — Educational programmes developed within the EUARS Competency-Based Curriculum follow a structured process informed by current evidence from research in health professions and engineering education.
- Course programme — The aim is to develop knowledge, skills and professional attitudes that can be applied across clinical, scientific and technology settings.
- Curriculum development — Develops the educational architecture, content and expected standards for robotic surgery pathways.
- Educational recognition — Through the multidisciplinary EUARS Education Curricula Team, the EUARS Education Committee identifies the essential competencies that professionals need to acquire and apply.
