Research

EUARS supports research and evidence generation in robotic surgery education, simulation, assessment, safety and implementation.

Research

EUARS aims to support collaborative research, consensus development and outcome-oriented evaluation related to robotic surgery education, simulation, assessment and responsible implementation.

Research activities will be developed progressively with appropriate academic, clinical and technology partners and will be subject to the necessary scientific, ethical, research integrity, governance and data-protection requirements.

Research priorities

  • Simulation-based education — Learning curves, transfer of training, proficiency development and reproducibility.
  • Assessment methodology — Valid metrics, feedback, benchmarking and progression decisions.
  • Human factors and team performance — Communication, workflow, ergonomics, safety culture and multidisciplinary teamwork.
  • Patient safety and implementation — Relationships between training, adoption pathways, quality and outcomes.
  • Data and artificial intelligence — Responsible use of video, analytics and AI-assisted educational feedback.
  • Telesurgery — Educational preparation, team competencies, safety requirements and responsible implementation.
  • Cross-disciplinary education — Effective learning models connecting clinicians, engineers and technology professionals.
